This letter will serve to confirm that Person Directing Work directed us to do Work to Perform which was not called for by our original contract with you and thus is extra work for which we are entitled to additional compensation and a commensurate extension of time. We are performing this extra work with the understanding that we will be paid all additional costs incurred and will receive a commensurate extension of contract time.
We understand that you have authorized Person Directing Work to direct us to perform this extra work and that in order not to delay the work and at the same time to expedite completion of the project, we understand that you want us to proceed and we thus are performing this extra work while the change order is being prepared.
